The Juilliard Orchestra, conducted by Euan Shields (MM ‘23), performs Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s “Avanti!” to open the 2023 Juilliard Celebration! program. Zwilich (DMA ’75, composition), the first woman to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize in composition, composed “Avanti!” in celebration of the idea of moving on and moving forward.
