This program is the culmination of the Choreographers & Composers class, in which six pairs of students, one from each field, create works in collaboration. In this year’s iteration, third-year choreographers were paired with composers to create original works performed by second-year Juilliard dancers and musicians.

John Adams Conducts "Absolute Jest" |...
In his 2012 scherzo, Absolute Jest, John Adams muses on phrases from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Grosse Fuge, and the Hammerklavier Sonata. Adams conducts the Juilliard Orchestra in this performance, featuring the Dolphins string quartet, creating a monumental soundscape in six movements.
